The number of hepatitis A cases is rising alarmingly in Brașov County, leading to increased pressure on healthcare facilities, particularly the Infectious Diseases Hospital. Currently, 42 patients are hospitalized, including 22 children and 20 adults, with adults facing more severe symptoms. The hospital has seen a significant rise in patient discharges, exceeding 100 monthly since autumn. Authorities are considering transferring patients to other medical units to manage the situation. In the third quarter, 283 cases were reported, with eight active outbreaks, two confirmed recently. Preventive measures include maintaining hygiene and directing patients to available healthcare facilities.
