The inauguration of the 13 kilometers of the Zero Nord Highway near Bucharest was postponed, disappointing drivers who arrived expecting to use it. The National Company for Road Infrastructure Administration (CNAIR) confirmed that the sections are not ready for traffic. The announcement of the opening was made just days before by former state secretary Horațiu Cosma, who has since left his position. The highway is crucial for diverting traffic from the Capital's Beltway and connecting to other highways. CNAIR's spokesperson explained that necessary safety features are still incomplete, while Cosma claimed the work was nearly finished, suggesting internal conflicts may have delayed the opening.
