The Romanian Customs Authority has reported the disappearance of nearly €700,000 that was seized during a customs control at Henri Coandă International Airport. The money was confiscated from an individual arriving from Dubai in January 2026 and was stored at the airport's customs office. A routine check revealed that the bag containing the money held only one banknote and paper sheets. An internal investigation is underway to determine the circumstances of the disappearance and to ensure compliance with retention and storage procedures. Police are also involved in the investigation.
