The Romanian Ministry of Finance has announced a draft decision to extend protective measures for the population and economy against rising fuel prices until January 31, 2027. This includes maintaining current measures such as temporary excise duty reductions on diesel and monitoring fuel exports. The crisis state declared in March 2026 allows for these measures to be extended in three-month increments. Without these measures, diesel prices could rise significantly, impacting inflation and purchasing power, especially during winter. The draft is available for public review and must be adopted before the current measures expire on October 31, 2026.
