Germany is preparing to purchase Bars cruise missiles developed in Ukraine, with testing set for early 2027. This would mark Germany's first known acquisition of offensive weaponry from Ukraine. The Bars missiles can carry payloads of up to 105 kg and are classified as low-cost cruise missiles. The German military plans to begin technical tests next year, and if successful, may order hundreds of units. Production of Bars missiles has also started in Germany through a Ukrainian-German joint venture. Germany is looking to expand its long-range weapon arsenal as part of a significant rearmament program.
