In the first nine months of 2026, over 4.1 billion packages were returned in Romania through the Deposit-Return System, achieving an 85% collection rate. August saw the highest returns with over 619 million packages, while September reached a 97% collection rate. Approximately 1.7 billion packages were returned in Q3, accounting for over 40% of the total returns. The highest returns were recorded in Bucharest, followed by Ilfov and Constanța. The collected materials are sent for recycling, with around 305,600 tons delivered to recyclers in this period.
