Alexandru-Mihai Ghigiu, the new Minister of Investments and European Projects, has dismissed the Secretary General and Deputy Secretary General of the ministry. Both were temporarily appointed through secondment from other public administration structures. Marilena-Nicoleta Balabuti, previously a director at the Romanian Court of Accounts, served as Secretary General since July 21, 2026. Petronel Munteanu, who was the General Director at the Ministry of Finance, took on the role of Deputy Secretary General from January 13, 2026. Both individuals are members of the National Liberal Party (PNL).
