The European Public Prosecutor's Office has charged four public officials and a company in a fraud case involving the purchase of two tugboats for the Danube, funded by EU money. The project received around 7 million euros from the Operational Infrastructure Program 2014-2020. Investigators found that the technical specifications favored a single bidder, and the delivered vessels did not meet contract requirements. The financial damage to the EU budget is estimated at 7 million euros, with potential prison sentences for the accused ranging from three to ten and a half years.
