Former President Traian Băsescu discussed drone attacks on commercial ships in the Black Sea, asserting that Putin does not seek conflict with NATO. He emphasized that the attacks target vessels heading to Ukrainian ports. Băsescu believes NATO is aware of when to intervene but currently lacks the conditions for action beyond Romania's territorial waters. He proposed that Romania should initiate a post-war agreement among Black Sea states to establish rights and obligations in the region, including the Danube area, to enhance both economic development and security.
