A rare pink dolphin was spotted swimming near Qantab Beach in Oman, attracting social media attention. Experts identified it as a Risso's dolphin, which can change color with age. The pink hue may result from blood circulation and environmental factors. While the sighting has sparked comparisons to Amazon's pink dolphins, this species is distinct and not commonly found near Muscat. Authorities confirmed the authenticity of the footage but questioned other videos claiming to show the same dolphin. The Risso's dolphin is known for its unique characteristics, including scarring that can lighten its skin tone over time.
