Many non-household electricity customers in Romania have lost their suppliers this month and will be transferred to the Last Resort Supplier (FUI) to avoid power outages. Over 3,000 consumption points, including public institutions, are affected. The FUI price is higher than competitive offers, and the estimated consumption to be taken over is around 100 GWh annually. Customers may have not accepted new offers due to increased prices or failed to complete the contracting process in time. The FUI price is calculated based on the average market price plus supplier margins and network tariffs, likely exceeding 1,100 lei/MWh this month, leading to higher costs for public authorities.
