A painting by Nicolae Grigorescu at the Ploiești Art Museum was valued at only 3.50 lei due to lack of funds for a professional evaluation. Other works by the artist are valued much higher, up to 868,000 lei. The museum's director explained that the initial valuation was done during communism, and current budgets do not allow for reevaluation. The museum hopes for more financial support from the County Council. Recent evaluations were last conducted in 2017, and a new assessment could cost between 20,000 and 40,000 euros for Grigorescu's works.
