A painting by Nicolae Grigorescu was mistakenly valued at just 3.50 lei at the Ploiești Art Museum, raising concerns about the museum's evaluation practices. Another of his works was previously valued at over 868,000 lei. Museum officials attribute the low valuations to historical factors and lack of funds for professional appraisals. The last evaluations were conducted in 2017, and future assessments are promised when budget allows. The Court of Accounts recommends gradual reevaluation of the museum's assets by March 31, 2027.
