Recent archaeological discoveries at the St. Capistrano Bastion in Alba Iulia were showcased, with guided tours scheduled for the weekend. Visitors can explore significant Roman, medieval, and modern relics, including the Porta Praetoria from the Roman castrum. The site will be open to the public from October 24-30, 2026, during the 'Open Gates of Millennia' event, commemorating 570 years since the death of John of Capistrano. Guided by archaeologist Anca Timofan, the tours will highlight the historical transformations of the fortifications over two millennia.
