Ukraine and Russia have agreed on a temporary ceasefire in Oleșki on October 27 to facilitate humanitarian aid delivery and civilian evacuation. The ceasefire will begin at 03:00 Kyiv time and 04:00 Moscow time, as confirmed by Ukrainian ombudsman Dmitro Lubineț after discussions with Russian negotiator Iana Lantratova. The agreement aims to allow food and medicine delivery and evacuate approximately 1,700 civilians trapped under Russian occupation since early 2022. The operation will proceed in stages due to significant risks on the ground. The region has faced severe shortages of food and medical supplies, with infrastructure heavily damaged before winter temperatures set in.
