Recent research indicates that the Terracotta Army, traditionally thought to be created solely by men, also involved women and children. A study led by Xiaoxi Li analyzed fingerprints on the figures, revealing that adult men contributed about 45% of the prints, while adult women accounted for nearly 33%, and minors under 15 years made up 22%. This challenges long-held beliefs about the workforce behind this historical site. However, the findings are based on a limited sample from one excavation pit, suggesting that they may not represent the entire workforce involved in the project.
