A 131-ton tunneling machine has arrived at the Poiana Tunnel site for the Sibiu-Pitești Highway, marking a significant step in the project. The transport faced challenges, including unpaved roads and rain, but was completed successfully. Over 100 additional transports are needed for other components before tunneling can commence. The Poiana Tunnel will be 1,780 meters long and is part of the challenging Cornetu-Tigveni section of the highway, which spans 37.4 kilometers through mountainous terrain.
