The construction of the new CFR Progresu Station in Sector 4 of Bucharest is underway, following the demolition of the old building as part of a modernization project for the railway line to Giurgiu. The project, valued at over 2.1 billion lei, is being executed by RailWorks, a partnership between Arcada Company and Alstom Transport. As of October 13, the physical progress of the railway works was at 19%, with design completed. The new station will serve both the metro and the modernized railway line, enhancing transport efficiency. The overall project includes significant upgrades to the railway infrastructure, electrification, and the implementation of advanced signaling systems, aiming for completion by September 2028.
