The Arefu municipality has been paying taxes for a land it owns in Iași for 14 years, according to Ziarul de Iași. The land, nearly 40 hectares, is included in the annual tax decisions of Gropnița's administration. Gropnița's mayor clarified that Arefu acquired the land through a property exchange, thus assuming tax obligations. Arefu, with a population of 2,000, is located in Argeș County and is known for its tourist attractions. The mayor of Arefu mentioned that the land in Iași was necessary for compensating the removal of forest land for a ski slope, as required by forestry regulations.
