Viorel Păunescu, former president of Steaua's Board of Directors, passed away at 91, as announced by the Romanian Professional Football League. Born on July 11, 1935, in Fărcășești, he was also a handball player for Steaua and Dinamo, representing the national team. In tribute, the league will observe a moment of silence before the remaining matches of the 13th round. Gino Iorgulescu, LPF president, expressed condolences to Păunescu's family.
