A man in Egypt discovered an inscribed stone on his property, leading to archaeological excavations that uncovered fragments of two giant royal statues over 3,000 years old. The site, located in Behebat al-Hijara, revealed a statue of Pharaoh Ramses II and another possibly depicting the same ruler. Archaeologists also found a pink granite block with hieroglyphs detailing Ramses II's royal titles. These findings may enhance understanding of the area's historical significance and contribute to Egypt's archaeological heritage. The Minister of Tourism praised the local man's prompt reporting of the discovery, highlighting the role of citizens in preserving cultural heritage.
