Three individuals are being investigated for child trafficking and exploitation in Alba Iulia, where four children aged 1 to 6 were forced to beg. The adults allegedly collected up to 1,000 lei daily from the children's begging efforts. The police documented the criminal activities of two men and a pregnant woman, who lived together with the minors in a rented apartment. The children were taken to crowded areas and subjected to harsh conditions, including violence and neglect. On October 21, 2026, the two men were detained, and a judge ordered their preventive arrest for 30 days. The children were subsequently placed under the care of social services.
