The new Minister of Labor, Florin Manole, stated that potential salary increases for public employees depend on budget decisions and Romania's commitments to control the deficit. He emphasized that the new unified salary law cannot be adopted in the next one to two months due to the government's focus on budget rectification and preparing the budget for 2027. Manole also mentioned that preparing next year's budget involves decisions on pensions, allowances, and other social benefits. He highlighted that while projected salary expenditures for 2026 and 2027 are significant, they should not be seen as commitments for salary increases, as actual spending will depend on various factors, including commitments to the European Commission and fiscal rules.
