The head of ANAF, Adrian Nica, announced that companies requesting VAT refunds will undergo checks if a significant portion of the claimed amount comes from suppliers with tax issues. New risk criteria for VAT refunds have been established, allowing ANAF to identify suspicious transactions through e-Factura and SAF-T systems. If a supplier's invoice constitutes over 20% of the VAT refund request and the supplier has tax problems, a control will be initiated to clarify the company's involvement in the transaction. Nica emphasized that the checks will focus on specific VAT-related questions rather than the entire business activity.
