Romania will switch to winter time on the night of October 24-25, 2026, making October 25 the longest day of the year. The country will revert from daylight saving time to Eastern European Time, maintaining a two-hour difference from Coordinated Universal Time (UTC). This change aligns with the European Parliament's decision to eliminate time changes, pending national approval. The transition will not affect train schedules, as they will operate according to the new time. Experts warn that the time change may disrupt circadian rhythms, potentially leading to fatigue and seasonal affective disorder, particularly affecting children and the elderly. Romania will return to daylight saving time on March 28, 2027.
