President Nicușor Dan has signed a decree placing Brigadier General Constantin Marius-Cezar Toma in reserve, effective October 25. Toma was appointed director of the Bucharest Gendarmerie on October 31, 2025, replacing Colonel Cristea Ionuț Cătălin. His predecessor was removed after a protest organizer was fined for exceeding protocol hours. Toma previously served as the chief inspector of the Argeș County Gendarmerie. He was promoted to brigadier general on January 23, 2026.
