Norway has reached an agreement with Hungary to resume a suspended grant program, following changes in the Hungarian government. Norwegian Foreign Minister Espen Barth Eide announced that negotiations could restart due to the new administration. A meeting is scheduled in Budapest to sign the agreement worth €254.1 million under the EEA and Norwegian grant program. The funding was previously halted due to disagreements with the former government regarding an independent fund operator. The current agreement covers the funding period from 2021 to 2028, with payments possible until April 2031, making Hungary the fourth largest beneficiary.
