Claude Monet's painting "Iris," created between 1924 and 1925, was sold for 50 million euros at a Paris auction, setting a record for the most expensive artwork sold in France. The auction, held on October 22, saw intense bidding among six buyers, eventually narrowing down to two. The painting was acquired by an Asian collector after 45 minutes of bidding. Previously, the record was held by Amadeo Modigliani's sculpture "Head of a Caryatid." Monet, a key figure in the Impressionist movement, is known for his depictions of nature and light, with notable works including "Impression, Sunrise." He passed away in 1926, leaving a significant legacy in the art world.
