The European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT) has launched a funding initiative with a budget of €40 million for advanced technology projects in EU member states, including Romania. Consortia of universities and businesses can apply online until January 13, 2027. Selected projects may receive up to €1.25 million each. This initiative aims to enhance the capacity of higher education institutions to transform research into innovations in industrial production and advanced technologies. It focuses on developing innovation and entrepreneurship skills among beneficiaries and strengthening ties between academia and industry. The EIT Higher Education Initiative has supported over 500 institutions since its launch in 2021, fostering numerous partnerships and startup investments.
