Lucian-Nicolae Gabur, former head of the Neamț Vehicle Registration Service, faces charges of influence peddling and bribery. He is required to pay a bail of 50,000 lei by October 30, 2026. Gabur allegedly accepted bribes to influence driving examiners between May and September 2026. He was previously detained for 24 hours starting October 22, 2026. Under judicial control, he must comply with several restrictions, including not leaving Romania without permission. A search at his home revealed 10,500 euros, which has been seized. Investigations are ongoing against other individuals as well.
