In the third quarter of 2026, Brașov-Ghimbav International Airport served 192,058 passengers, ranking 8th in Romania, surpassing Sibiu and other airports. The president of Brașov County Council highlighted this achievement, noting a significant increase in passenger numbers compared to previous years. In the first nine months of 2026, the airport recorded 464,248 passengers, double the figure from 2025. Meanwhile, Sibiu Airport is expected to report lower passenger numbers due to route cancellations. Both airports offer various destinations, with Brașov having a broader range of winter routes. Fly Lili, a former airline operating from Brașov, has ceased regular flights but may consider routes from Sibiu in the future.
