A man and a woman have been charged with kidnapping two five-month-old twins born to an Indonesian woman in Italy and brought to Romania. The couple, who were living in Italy, attempted to manipulate the mother into giving them the children, using various deceitful tactics. After the mother was isolated and misled, she was coerced into fleeing to Romania with the twins. The couple kept the infants in captivity for 24 days, living in poor conditions and relying on begging. They were eventually discovered by police, and the twins were returned to their mother. The couple has accepted plea deals, receiving prison sentences of 4 years and 4 months for the woman and 3 years and 4 months for the man, pending judicial approval.
