The Romanian government has approved a set of measures aimed at preventing violence in schools following a series of serious incidents. Key initiatives include strengthening security teams, increasing the number of school psychologists, and establishing a rapid response mechanism involving multiple ministries. The measures were prompted by alarming cases of violence, including a stabbing incident involving a 12-year-old student. A working group led by the Minister of Education will oversee the implementation of these measures, which also include stricter penalties for violent acts and a media campaign to discourage violence in schools. Prime Minister Luca Niculescu emphasized the need for adequate protection for students and staff in educational institutions.
