Following a series of violent incidents in schools, the Romanian government has implemented measures to enhance safety. These include increasing security personnel, boosting the number of school counselors, launching a media campaign against violence, and tightening penalties for offenders. The decision was made during an emergency meeting led by Prime Minister Luca Niculescu, who emphasized the need for protective measures for nearly 3 million students. Recent attacks by students in Pitești and Bistrița prompted these actions, highlighting the growing issue of violence in educational settings. A working group will be established to revise the National Plan for Violence Prevention in Schools.
