The National Authority for Consumer Protection (ANPC) imposed fines exceeding 5.3 million lei after inspections of 1,800 businesses from October 19 to 23. Inspectors found expired meat and dairy products, moldy pastries, and rusty utensils. Thirteen businesses were temporarily closed until issues are resolved. The inspections revealed numerous violations, including expired food products, inadequate labeling, and poorly maintained fitness equipment. ANPC's actions included 1,153 fines, 797 warnings, and the withdrawal of non-compliant products worth over 650,000 lei.
