Kawasaki Heavy Industries has signed a memorandum with Transgaz for a strategic partnership to transport hydrogen via pipelines in Romania. This collaboration aims to enhance Romania's role as an energy hub in Central and Eastern Europe. The initial phase includes testing hydrogen transport using Kawasaki's centrifugal compressor technology. This project is part of a broader initiative funded by Japan's METI to support Ukraine's reconstruction and strengthen ties with Central and Eastern European countries. The goal is to develop efficient hydrogen transport systems, addressing challenges in compressing hydrogen at high pressures.
