TAROM takes an average of 110 days to pay compensation for resolved claims in Romania, according to an AirAdvisor analysis. Starting October 2027, airlines must respond to claims within 30 days. The analysis covered over 68,000 claims and found that delays exceed one month for nearly 29% of airline-country combinations. TAROM has one of the longest payment periods, while SATA/Azores Airlines averages 130 days. New EU regulations will require airlines to confirm receipt of claims and provide compensation or a justified refusal within 30 days. The regulations also introduce a nine-month deadline for submitting claims. Anton Radchenko from AirAdvisor emphasizes that the effectiveness of these changes will depend on airline compliance.
