Microsoft has developed an AI tool that diagnoses medical conditions with greater accuracy than general practitioners. The system uses a step-by-step approach similar to human consultations, employing a diagnostic orchestrator to guide the process. In tests involving over 300 complex cases, the AI outperformed doctors by more than double in accuracy. Additionally, the tool proved to be more cost-effective in planning investigations. Future research will involve collaboration with a medical center to assess the AI's effectiveness in real clinical settings. However, the results do not imply that the AI can replace human doctors in practice.
