The Romanian National Bank reported on October 23, 2026, that the leu depreciated against the euro, US dollar, and British pound, while slightly appreciating against the Swiss franc. The euro has risen for the fourth consecutive day, now valued at 5.3495 lei. The US dollar increased to 4.7770 lei, marking its highest level since October 8, 2026. The British pound also saw a rise, reaching 6.3909 lei, while the Swiss franc decreased slightly to 5.8093 lei. Additionally, the price of gold per gram fell to 617.8007 lei from 625.6821 lei.
