The Momaia tunnel on the A1 Sibiu–Pitești will be monitored with advanced technology, with traffic opening planned for this year. The Monitoring Center at Curtea de Argeș is currently testing SCADA equipment for traffic surveillance in the 1,350-meter tunnel. Over 2,500 monitoring points, including sensors and smart cameras, have been installed to detect incidents and manage lane closures. The center will operate 24/7 with 11 specialists and will conduct final tests with ISU and CNAIR representatives by the end of November. The maximum speed in the tunnel will be 80 km/h. All road works on the section are completed, and the opening is ahead of the contractual deadline set for February 2027, allowing drivers to use 54 kilometers of the A1.
