The number of companies entering insolvency is expected to rise this winter, peaking in early 2027, according to Sierra Quadrant. In the first eight months of the year, 4,782 firms and authorized individuals went bankrupt, marking a nearly 5% increase compared to the same period in 2025. The first half of the year was the weakest in eight years, with a 12.4% rise in new procedures. Economic factors such as declining GDP, reduced retail sales, and high inflation contribute to this trend. Winter will pose additional challenges due to rising energy costs, decreased consumer spending, and expensive loans. The construction and retail sectors are particularly vulnerable, with significant regional disparities in insolvency rates. Experts warn that the financial strain on companies is likely to worsen, leading to a surge in insolvencies early next year.
