CNAIR is currently testing the monitoring systems of the Momaia tunnel on the Sibiu-Pitești Highway, with traffic expected to open by the end of the year. The roadworks are complete, but the opening depends on the successful completion of tests. The tunnel, measuring 1,350 meters, features over 2,500 monitoring points, including sensors and cameras to detect incidents. Final checks, including fire simulations, are scheduled for late November. Permanent monitoring will be conducted from a center in Curtea de Argeș, with a speed limit of 80 km/h in the tunnel. This section will increase the usable length of the highway by approximately 54 kilometers.
