The Superior Council of Magistracy (CSM) responded to the European Court of Human Rights' decision regarding salary rights, urging legislative and executive authorities to establish a stable legal framework to prevent future disputes. CSM noted that the government acknowledged the existence of salary claims but sought to stagger payments due to budgetary constraints. They emphasized that while staggered payments are permissible under exceptional circumstances, the obligation to pay remains. CSM highlighted that many public sector salary disputes stem from unclear legislation and called for consultations to create stable, non-discriminatory rules. The European Court rejected complaints from six Romanian judges regarding staggered payments, affirming that government measures did not violate their rights.
