A Ukrainian transport plane caught fire during landing at Chubu Centrair Airport in Japan. The flames were quickly extinguished, and the runway was closed for 15 minutes. The incident occurred on October 22, involving an Antonov An-124 operated by Antonov Airlines. The cause is under investigation by Japanese authorities. Following the Russian invasion of Ukraine, Antonov Airlines has stationed five An-124 aircraft in Leipzig, Germany. Previously, a drone loaded with explosives was found near an An-124 in Leipzig, leading to accusations against Russia, which it denied. The An-124 is one of the largest cargo planes, designed for heavy and oversized loads.
