Daniel-Cătălin Zamfir, born on March 10, 1967, in Petroșani, is the current Minister of Economy, Digitalization, Entrepreneurship, and Tourism in the Niculescu government. He has a background in engineering and management, having worked in various roles including director at RELITE SRL and the Ministry of Labor. His political career began in the late 1990s with PD, later joining PNL and ALDE before becoming a member of PSD in 2020. Zamfir has served as a senator and is now leading the Ministry focused on economic and digital initiatives. The Niculescu government comprises 18 ministers, with a significant representation from PSD.
