Germany's economic activity grew at a slower pace than expected in October, with modest increases in new orders. While the industrial sector continued to expand, the services sector showed signs of slowing down, indicating a fragile recovery. The composite PMI dropped from 53.8 to 52.8, below economists' forecasts. Industrial production rose, with the manufacturing PMI increasing to 54.2, the highest in two months. However, the services PMI fell to 51.7, as clients delayed orders due to tighter budgets. Despite this, foreign demand supported factory output. Price increases slowed to the lowest rate in seven months, and service sector confidence reached its highest since February, while industrial producers remained cautious due to rising raw material costs.
