Walking has been shown to enhance mental health by stimulating the release of natural antidepressants and anxiolytics. Controlled challenges can activate natural adaptation mechanisms, improving resilience to chronic stress. Regular physical activity, especially walking in nature, promotes relaxation and emotional well-being. A recent observational study on Via Transilvanica involved around 70 participants walking at least 150 kilometers over 10 days, assessing the impact on physical health and emotional balance. The findings suggest that physical effort can lead to positive emotional states and increased self-confidence, highlighting the connection between physical and mental health.
