In western Romania, teachers reporting income from tutoring have seen a significant increase, with a 77% rise in those declaring their earnings. Reported tutoring income has tripled from 2021 to 2025, reaching over 18.7 million lei. In Timiș County alone, declared earnings rose by 247%, with the number of taxpayers increasing from 221 to 490. Some teachers report annual incomes exceeding 100,000 euros, with the highest reported income in Timiș reaching over 575,000 lei in 2025. Similar trends are observed in Arad and Hunedoara, where tutoring income and the number of declaring individuals have also increased significantly. This growth reflects enhanced fiscal oversight in the education sector.
