On October 23, around 200 supporters of Călin Georgescu blocked traffic in front of the Bucharest Court of Appeal, where a hearing regarding his detention was taking place. Despite heavy rain, they chanted slogans in support of Georgescu, who is facing a request from DIICOT prosecutors to remain in preventive custody. The protest remained peaceful, with no incidents reported. Inside the courtroom, the judges listened to the prosecutor's arguments for continued detention and the defense's counterarguments. The judges have retreated to deliberate and will announce their decision later in the day. Meanwhile, Georgescu was taken away in a police van.
