Customs and border police found 24 drones and two smart flight batteries worth over one million lei in a Bulgarian-registered van. The driver could not provide documentation for the drones, claiming the cargo was headed to Germany. The drones included advanced imaging systems and some were capable of high-altitude flight. Two drones were designed for transporting goods, similar to those used in cigarette smuggling, with a capacity of up to 80 kg each. The total value of the seized items was 1,011,000 lei, and the van was taken to the Regional Customs Directorate in Craiova for further processing. The driver received a fine of 15,000 lei.
